Chef Max Kamakura, a sushi chef with 23 years of experience, blends his Japanese and German heritage into his culinary journey. Starting at 15 in his family’s sushi restaurant in Brazil, he honed his skills under esteemed Japanese chefs. A motorcycle accident led him to explore Brazil’s indigenous ingredients, which he infused into his sushi. After refining his craft in Peru, Kamakura brought his innovative techniques to the U.S. in 2014, contributing to several Michelin-starred restaurants. Now in Miami, he offers a super-exclusive Omakase experience, known for its unique techniques and unforgettable flavors.
